What Makes a Healthy Relationship
You cannot expect to meet the special someone of your life and then expect to marry them before you even know anything about them, for instance, you can’t date people based on their looks, because if you do, you are going to wind up breaking up sooner or later.
What makes matters worse, is that if you two decide, or accidentally have a kid together, and then break up a couple months after the kid is born, as this is going to make it more hard on the kid when he or she is growing up. So with that being said, let’s go over some of the things that make up a healthy relationship.
Friendship is very important when it comes to building a healthy relationship. Sharing some similar activities will keep the two of you engaged and interested in each other, loving to make each other laugh and smile can go a long way.
Communication is also very important. If something is bothering one of you, you have to be able to sit down and talk about it, in order to work the problem out. Every couple out there has their ups and downs, if you do not discuss what’s bothering you with your significant other, then the tension is just going to build up and things are going to get worse way before they get better.
Honesty and Loyalty, this is what almost every woman out there looks for in a man, and the same goes the other way around either. Loyalty would most likely be described as not cheating. When you make a mutual commitment to date one another, and only one another, that commitment should not be broken. Loyalty is one of the main reasons that so many people break up and why relationships do not last.
Let’s face it, complications are going to happen and on top of that things are going to be done that irritate or piss off the other person. This is why it is so important to forgive and forget, if you can. Some things I know cannot be forgiven such as cheating, but you have to know when to let the little things go and move on with your relationship.
Another thing that helps drive a healthy relationship is being financially focused, and you must stick together to work out financial problems, if you have any, and I know that many relationships do.
These are just some of the things that are going to go a long way in a healthy relationship, and you must remember that just not one person alone can make all of these things happen, it goes both ways, and it is going to take some extra hard work from both people in the relationship to maintain a long healthy one.
